I got an EVDO card for a long weekend from Verizon, then returned it. “You’ll be prorated,” I was assured. I wasn’t, and instead got charged a full month’s fees for 4 days’ worth of use.
I thought I’d paid it anyway, but maybe not. Either way, I eventually got a message from “Miracle Financial”. I returned their call and left a message asking for them to call me back and let me know what they were calling about. I had also gotten a call from another financial company on the same night, but that one was looking for someone else. I figured that some predatory lending agency had gotten my number on an industry-wide spam list, so after doing my part for our new game of phone tag I didn’t think much else about it.
The next call I got was today, and came from an abusive gentleman who refused to let me leave the conversation in order to call Verizon. Instead he started yelling about my credit report (as if a $70 outstanding balance was going to put that dreamhouse of mine out of reach). “We’ll be calling you for seven years!” he bellowed, which didn’t make an awful lot of sense — I think the number comes from the years until an offense goes off your credit report, but who knows. I assume he does this all the time, so it must work despite the complete lack of sense.
I’m disinclined to feed money directly to people who call me up to yell at me, so I hung up on him and called Verizon. A maze of prompts later I get a human being, who told me that I couldn’t talk to them about the issue — I’d have to talk to the collection guys. Of course, the collection guy had already told me that I can’t talk to them about the incorrect charge, either. I just need to pay up, preferably by directly giving my credit card number to some lout who had called me out of the blue.
So I cut them a check. What else could I do? If a company decides you owe them money, they can simply refuse to listen to you or correct their mistake. Instead they’ll pay some professional dickhead in Massachusetts to harass you by telephone until you give up. If that fails they’ll tell every other corporation how terrible you are. Unless you’re a lawyer with a lot of free time, there’s not much you can do about it.
I remember many still, sunny Sunday mornings at UVA when the perfect awfulness of my hangover was wrenched into consciousness by an angry collections call. Not for me, of course — I’m actually surprisingly good at paying my bills, despite only opening my mail once a month or so. Instead it was for the people who had the phone number before me. They would tell me not to deny that I was [name other than my own], and strongly encourage me to settle my outstanding debt immediately. And they’d do with the same prerecorded call every time. I eventually had to track down the company responsible, call during business hours and politely ask them to shut the fuck up. To their credit, they did. Still, you have to wonder about what would drive someone into a career of professional unpleasantness.
Anyway, it’s a lousy thing to have happen in the middle of your day, and all the more infuriating because these jerks don’t even have a web presence for me to sheepishly submit my payment to — instead I had to speak to an actual person. I still refused to do anything other than mail them a check, but that didn’t make me feel much better. Will polluting their nonexistent Google ranking help? Nah, probably not. But dammit, I have to try.

Unfortunatly for me I am currently having to deal with these rude jackasses at Mircile Financial. The first letter I receiced from them said THIRD ATTEMPT, third?? What happened to the frist two? So I call these people and as it turns out this debt is from 1999, it is currently 2007 and this is the first that I am hearing of me oweing $1015.35 for an old Verizon Wireless bill. The telephone number is not familiar to me at all but I am told that this is my debt and I MUST pay it back by the end of the month or they are going to start litigation and adding on attorney’s fees and the debt would go up into the range of $4,000-5,000!!! I told the women I would have to call her back b/c 1. I don’t believe this is my debt and 2. I don’t have the lump sum settlement of $780.oo right now, and I don’t feel I should pay anything back.
Second converstation, I am still insisting that this is not my debt and requesting a copy of the contract I supposedly signed-mind you I would have been 19 years old at the time of contract. I am told that they do not have that infomation on site and they would have to get my records. Still haven’t receieved a copy. They are still insisting that this is my debt and I must pay, so I ask to speak with the supervisor or manager to try and resolve this matter. I am put on the phone with a women “SUSIE” no last name of course. So I say I would like to resolve this dect which I do not believe is mine, and “SUSIE” responds, “yeah sure this isn’t your debt, uh ah.” “why don’t you just pay your bills and you wouldn’t have this problem” completley taken aback by this little bitch who works in a call center I respond “you really don’t have to be so condescending, I am calling you to resolve this matter, I’m not evading you in away way and would appreciate a more professional matter from you”
“SUSIE” responds “YOU PEOPLE AND YOUR SOB STORIES JUST PAY YOUR DAMN BILLS” now I would like to ask, what sob story is she talking about. I was hung up on 2 times by little miss “SUSIE” and again by the next person who answered the phone at shitty Miricle Financial and could hear “SUSIE” in the background yelling to hang up on me while I ask who “SUSIE’S” supervisoer is and the names of the attorney’s. So yet again I am hung up on.
Completely frustrated I call again. This time I am on with the first rep. that I had ever spoken with who tells me there are no attorneys there at the “call center” and that she doesn’t know “SUSIE’S” boss. and that if I have a credit card I should just give it to them so they can charge me $792.00 up another $12 from 2 minutes prior. and the threats continued about sending my account for litigation.
Luckliy for me I work for 8 attorney’s. Today one of my lawyers calls Miricle Financial and is told to fax a letter stating that I have retained services with this attorney before they can talk. We tried faxing for over an hour with no answer on their end. We finally get through via fax and call them back. Of course a stuttering gentlemen states that no one is available to discuss my account with my attorney at this time…it was 4:30pm. It clearly states on there letter they are there from 8:30am-8pm Monday through Friday. So what, today they just decided to close up early??
The stuttering reject says to my attorney “I will leave a note for the attorney here to hold this account and not send it for litigation.” Now I was told by 3 different people at their offices that the attorney’s for Miricle Financial are not located at the “call center” and they wouldn’t get on the phone with me anyway, now all of a sudden this dickwad is leaving notes??
I don’t know what the outcome of this will be, all I know is I hope “SUSIE” is enjoying her life as a loser call center manager making $8 an hour and her double wide trailer because this is all she’s going to have.
It’s just amazingly sad what some people will do to make a living like as the people that work for Miricle financial “call center” do. I think I would rather live in a cardboard box then harrass people with lies and accusations. I am very happy that I stumbled upon this site and I could not agress more – MIRICLE FINANCIAL & VERIZON WIRELESS ARE SCUMBAGS !!

Said we owed a bill from 1999 for $4635.00 for a number we have never heard of and the number was for a state four states away from ours!!!! Only diff is that it is the True Logic Collection Agency….yeah, figure THAT one out!
I recently started getting calls and messages from Miracle Financial. At first I would erase the messages without hearing the entire thing because I’ve never had anything to do with a company with that name. (And the name sounded shady too) But then I started getting a message everyday, so I listened and they’re saying I must call back regarding my Verizon Wireless account. I’ve never bought anything from Verizon wireless in my life. So Miracle Financial can eat a dick. Plus they can call all they want too, I’m never home anyway.

I’m getting calls from Miracle Finance too even though I don’t own anyone anything. Wouldn’t you think they would a least be polite? How does their rude and vicious attitude help them collect?
I have had these calls in the past from other agency’s and one of them said they were collecting for Verizon Wireless so I am assuming that Verizon has given them my name too. Doesn’t Verizon care enough about their reputation that they wouldn’t use scummy agencies? Sorry. Stupid question.
I filed bankruptcy and have faxed these people the discharge papers to prove it and the scumbags are still calling me trying to collect the debt!
I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed these postings before. I have been battling Miracle Financial for 2 months now, and they are doing nothing to supply me with the materials I have requested. The company claims that it sent me six – YES SIX – notices, and I have not received ONE! I’m sorry, but something I have, um, I think it’s called better judgment, tells me not to give random people my credit card or bank account number over the phone. Instead I gave them my social, date of birth, and mother’s maiden name…riiiiiiight.
Each person I have spoken to – and there have been several – has been nastier than the one before. Same story – I contacted Verizon, they have no record. I told MF this (irony – notice the initials – insert creative expletive here) and AGAIN requested documentation – they have none except my account number. Shocking. When I told them that they were harassing me and I was reporting them to the BBB, they began yelling at me and threatening me with some federal BS.
So for everyone out there being harassed by the same company over a similar situation, I urge you to lodge a complaint with the BBB. MF is on their site, but NOT registered with them, and MF is NOT in good standing with the BBB. Oh, and funny thing, the BBB states that MF has only one employee – interesting considering that I have received calls from Dustin, Kristen, Tenesha and more.

I too have had the same problems with Miracle Financial. Back in March I received a call from a gentleman (if you can call him that) from MF with the same story, wireless phone in 2000 ruin my credit, pay them the money blah, blah blah. After some yelling I told him I wanted to see the contract to mail it to me. I never received anything. Now almost 7 months later, my phone is ringing again. I call Tensha back and ask what this is about and why was I getting harrassing phone calls? She starts yelling at me that they aren’t harrassing phone calls, I said well then you should listen to yourself. I told her that I never received the requested contract and that by law they are required to provide me with proof within 5 days. She says that their was nothing in the commments, so I must not have told them I wanted to see the contract. But that they did send me printed statements that first had to be put through the lawyers, oh back in January. I said funny, I didn’t speak to them till March. She then got really nasty and started to say how they were printed again in August. I said again, I don’t care about statements in August, which I never received, I want the contract. She again started yelling at me and then says well what’s your address, I told her well if you got my phone # you should have my address, now send me the contract and we can talk. I then hung up on them.
I’ve had the same experience. I’ve called the police in Plymouth MA. I gave Gary Roundtree’s Name and address to them based on these postings. They said to call the police where you live to form a complaint.

I just spoke with an Earl at MF and I could NOT believe that he talked to me the way he did. He started off okay but then when I told him that I couldn’t pay the $93/month he wanted, he started with the abusive language. I hung up on him. These people call me every day and I’m sick of it!! I am so happy I found this site! I received a bill from Verizon last year for an account I never had. I have had the same Verizon phone number for many years but the bill I received was for a different account and phone number. After spending a lot of time on hold with Verizon I assumed the problem was taken care of. Never recieved another bill regarding that account. Then last week I went to upgrade my phone and I’m told I have an old unpaid account that was sent to Miracle Financial. Verizon told me they can not be of assistance to me and to call MF. I call MF and they say they can’t do anything and I need to pay the bill. Although I am greatly pissed, I agree to pay the bill (need a new phone) but when I asked will they give me a confirmation number after I give my credit card info, the ignorant ass tells me “no, our book keeper went home”. So I hung up on him. Now I’m looking into a different cell carrier. I think Verizon and MF should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe, just maybe if enough people complain they will be held accountable.
Chuck is just really mad at the world, because he got FIRED from M.F. So he has to come on here and trash everyone who works there. He is 23 yrs. old and can’t even hold a collection job. You people are pathetic! I owed a bill under Verizon and Susie Evans called me, and was very polite. She was polite because I new she was right, I paid my bill and didn’t have any problems with M.F. These collection people are just doing their jobs,and they only get nasty when you people don’t want to pay your bills. its pretty sad when you can’t even pay a cell phone bill, and you have to come on a website like this and bash the people who are doing their jobs. I just want to say that Miracle Financial has alot of great people who work there. Just some people like to talk shit about other people & thats why nobody stays, not only that but those are the people that are on this site being called out for being rude on the phones. Word of advice, if your calling in to pay your bill some of the people are really nice..no need to be rude & yell-they don’t deserve it. And if you get a job there stay away from the family, they like to act like a friend but as soon as you turn around they open their mouth & the shit keeps running!
If You Havnt yet check out the BBB and look up M.F. out of 360 or so companys they have had the most complaints….if you didnt know it takes a really strong and backed up complaint for the bbb to even recognize it….Verizon couldnt of picked a worse company to handle there accounts!!!
My identity was stolen in Kansas. I’ve never been in that state. Verizon sold a cell phone to a person using my soc. security number as an ID. No photo ID required, I guess. Our first notice was from a collection agency in Chicago. We notified the police here in Florida and in Kansas. We have the case numbers and a letter from the colleciton agency stating the case was closed and that Verizon had been notified of that decision.
Now, in 2007, we get calls from Miracle Finance that we owe the $700. The original amount was about 10% higher than what they claim we still owe them.
No one at Miracle Finance who calls us will accept any explanation. We were told and complied with faxing them the data about the case numbers, etc. This is a case of identity theft and they won’t listen. The last caller stated it isn’t their job to investigate the claim or to try and find out if it is really an identity theft issue or not.
We ain’t paying the money, so Miracle Finance is going to hear me yelling right back at them. I am going to write to the Attorney General in Massachusetts and the Boston Globe editorial page concerning these practices.
Miracle Finance is preying on people during a time of great financial uncertainty in the US. I hope they can sleep well at night and that their parents are proud of the professions they have chosen. How I pray they all get involved in personal identity theft and find out what it’s like.

Well I’m glad to find this site. I’ve had my first dealings with miracle financial this week. I came home from work and found a letter from MF. I had no idea who this company was. The letter stated that they bought a debt from Verizon Wireless worth 294.54 and are willing to settle for 119.00. I called them to resolve the issue and they told me it was my father who owed the debt. I said ok great…stop sending me letters. That little prick told me that if I didn’t give them my dad’s address that I would continue to recieve letters and phone calls. I told him it wasn’t my responsibility to find his debtors. Then he continued on to say…”if your father loves and cares for his son…he would understand how frustrating this is for you and would contact us to pay the debt” Fuck you you condescending little faggot. I have filed a complaint with the missouri atty generals office and also sent this company a nasty email. Any other advice would be greatly apprciated.

I just talked to wonderful miracle services- HOW RUDE- I talked to Susie who said that she was the only one that I could talk to… she proceeded to tell me that I was not her problem and hung up on me- then my husband called and she did the same thing. Come to find out I DIDNT OWE JACK!! When I called back and demanded an apology the girl said “thats not going to happen” and hung up. I hope that everyone is filing out BBB complaints because I am!

A lot of people have expressed tat the people on here are ignorant for complaing about M.F. I am 23 years old… I am E-2 in the Navy. I moved to California and decided to drop Verizon. They were overcharging me and they agreed and apologized. They told me that my nill was in dispute and they would let me know what i had to do. 3 months later I get a call from MF. I am a very patient person, and I hate that I owed a debt.
Suzie told me I had to pay the 800 Dollars by the end of the month (it is december 17, 1 week til x-mas). I told her I was only E-2 in the military, that is more than I make in a paycheck, and I have already been paid for the month of December. Her next statement was “we will just talk to your Commanding officer if you don’t pay it today”. I understood that I owed a debt. I just explained that without warning I can’t come up with that kind of money in a lump sum. Now, I am an IT in the Navy, if I let this get to my CO before I resolve it, I can lose my security clearence, thereby losing my rate.
Most important though, there are people saying the MF people are just doing thier jobs, People should pay thier bills so it doesn’t get to that ect. What many people don’t realize, is that these people are being very threatening. I have delt with NCO Financial in the past, and while I wont say the experience was a pleasent one, They at least patiently took the time to work something out with me.
I Don’t mind paying what I owe. But there was no possible way for me to come up with enough money in that time.

I just got off the phone w/ Verizon’s Fraud Department, and after a little investigating she told me this was a error on their end, so I’ll be receiving a letter of discharge concerning this phantom account that I won’t be responsible for.
The first person I talked to from Miracle Financial was a lady named Janet, she was nice and understanding about the situation. But a few days later my account was handed over to some jackass named Peter who was highly rude and dismissive and makes claims I’m trying to skip out on my bill and tries to turn my words on me “but you said yourself you knew” bullshit motherfucker, I only knew because of FreeCreditReport.com sending me a alert last week. This guy was a jerk and wasn’t listening at all, I’m seeing if I can file a complaint.

Collecting debt is a reputable profession like any other, and like any other profession respect and professionalism should always be practiced. That being said MF is far from respectful, and professional. We as customers have the right to speak our minds, and if employees of MF don’t like it they should start treating their call base with the respect everyone deserves, then the negative comments will stop, as I’m sure no one has posted negative feedback just in an attempt to upset the people at MF.

Aside of a rude and unpleasant experience with MF, my girlfriend was ripped off as MF put a reoccurring deduction on her checking account after she gave them her bank information to pay off her debt of $150. Now she’s out $450 as they debited her account 3 times. Please don’t make the same mistake and pay with a debit or credit card, instead use a check, money order or cashiers check as these Assholes are being used by Verizon for debt collection, and are the only way you will clear Verizon from your credit report. That is after you call Verizon, and have them confirm your payment with MF. As MF didn’t even follow through, and hadn’t removed Verizon from her bureaus.
