All I mean is that it is now conventional, accepted wisdom that sexism is wrong, even if sexism still exists.  Similarly, it&#039;s accepted that racism is wrong, even though it still exists.
It probably would&#039;ve been clearer if I&#039;d just said &quot;sexism&quot; and &quot;racism&quot;.  But (and maybe inferring the wrong thing) your comment seems to imply that the lingering effects of pre-feminist thought continue to be a serious problem in a way that the lingering effects of pre-emancipation thought are not.
